They call it Poetry in Motion
Its the least the MTA could so charging a dollar for a new card!
Here's the beauty on the back of my unlimited:
The Good Life
By Tracy K Smith 1972
When some people talk about money
They speak as if it were a mysterious lover
Who went out to buy milk and never
Came back, and it makes me nostalgic
For the years I lived on coffee and bread,
Hungry all the time, walking to work on payday
Like a woman journeying for water
From a village without a well, then living
One or two nights like everyone else
On roast chicken and red wine.
Now read it again.
This was my initial thoughts after I just reread it:What are we running towards?
Eeverything you need is right here, right now.
Because all we really have is right now.
Right now and the memories of past nows.
Right now with the people in our present.
With the beauty of today.
Today being a miracle to still be breathing this air that is to temporary.
